About - The Cobourg Ecology Garden is almost 14 years old!  As an initiative of the Cobourg Environmental Advisory Committee, sod was turned in 1996 on a plot of land owned by Legion Village.  Shortly thereafter, the Town of Cobourg allowed use of additional land adjacent to the original site, which enabled the Garden to double in size.  By employing principles of organic gardening, the Ecology Garden sets forth practices which result in a dynamic force becoming fixed; a healthy interrelationship of plants and environments is set in balance and is maintained without the use of toxic substances or fertilizers providing an oasis of native and naturally grown plant material for all (bugs, butterflies, birds and humans included.
